Dr. William Heinson

Postdoctoral Researcher

Biography

William joined Prof. Rajan Chakrabarty’s Aerosol Impact Research (AIR) lab as a postdoc appointee in September 2015. William received his PhD in physics from Kansas State University in August of 2015.  In his dissertation entitled “Simulation Studies on Shape and Growth Kinetics for Fractal Aggregates in Aerosol and Colloidal Systems” he performed several simulation studies using various aggregation algorithms including diffusion limited cluster-cluster aggregation (DLCA) and Brownian Dynamics. He plans on using his knowledge of aggregation to create simulated soot particles that mimic those from various flame systems and study their optical properties.
